That’s why we build these to IP44 standards. In plain English? It means the housing can handle splashes from any direction and keeps out bits of dust. We seal the wiring and use heavy-duty gaskets to keep steam away from the internals. Without that, you’re just waiting for the contacts to corrode and the whole thing to short out. The honest trade-off Now, here’s the catch. Adding that protective coating to the glass means a little bit of the heat gets blocked too. You lose maybe 5-10% of the raw thermal power compared to a clear tube. But we’ve got a fix for that. We just bump up the filament wattage so you still feel that “instant heat” the second you flip the switch.
