Fixing the Light Without Losing the Heat
The trick is to get rid of the glare without killing the warmth. We do this by adding special coatings to the quartz. Think of it like a pair of tinted sunglasses for the lamp. These coatings soak up the aggressive, high-frequency light—specifically those sharp blue peaks—but let the infrared heat slide right through. It’s a bit of a balancing act. If we go too heavy on the filter to make the light dim, the heater loses its punch. We have to find that sweet spot where the light is soft and comfortable, but the heat is still intense enough to dry out a damp bathroom.
Keeping Things Cool (Where it Matters)
Since these heaters are recessed, they’re basically tucked into a hole in your ceiling. That’s a recipe for a heat trap. To stop the ceiling joists from getting toasted, we use polished aluminum reflectors. They act like a mirror for heat, pushing all those IR rays straight down toward the floor and away from the building’s structure. We also use ceramic sockets for the wiring. Why? Because when you’re running these at full blast, things get hot. Ceramic doesn’t melt, which keeps the whole setup safe. One big tip:**don’t cram these into a tight space.**They need room to breathe. If there’s no airflow in the ceiling cavity, the internal temperature spikes, and your expensive lamp is going to burn out way faster than it should. The best part is the speed.
