Why we stopped making “disposable” bathroom heaters
Let’s be honest: most bathroom heaters are basically trash waiting to happen. You buy one, it keeps you warm for a few years, and then the second a heating element pops, the whole thing is useless. You rip the entire chassis off the wall and toss it in a landfill. It’s a waste. And it’s annoying. So, we decided to do things differently with our wall-mounted modules.
Just swap the part, not the whole thing
We built these with a modular setup. Basically, the heating element lives separately from the main housing and the wiring. Here is why that actually matters: if a tube burns out after five years of heavy use, you don’t have to start over from scratch. You don’t have to rewire your bathroom or call in a crew for a full install. You just pull out the dead module and slide in a new one. It’s fast. Really fast. Since we use standard connectors, it’s a simple drop-in fit. No soldering, no “custom fitting” on the fly, and no headache.
Dealing with the steam
Bathrooms are tough on electronics. All that humidity and steam eats away at contacts and causes oxidation. It’s just what happens. By tucking the heating element into its own replaceable module, we keep the core circuitry tucked away and safe from the dampness. Now, there is a small trade-off. Because of the modular housing, the unit is a bit bigger than those cheap, sealed ones you see everywhere. But in my book, adding an extra inch of space is a fair price to pay to avoid replacing the entire system every few years.
The reality of the shop floor
If you’ve worked with quartz or halogen elements, you know they usually start to fade around the five-year mark. The heat drops, or a filament just snaps. It happens. With our layout, that’s not a disaster—it’s just a quick bit of maintenance. You pop the faceplate, unplug the module, and slot in a fresh one. It turns what used to be a major repair job into something you can do in a few minutes. It’s the difference between a heater that lasts three years and one that stays on your wall for a decade.
