We use gold-coating because it’s the best in the business at reflecting infrared energy. It basically acts like a mirror for heat, pushing almost every single watt straight down onto the wafer. The trick is all about direction. Standard quartz lamps spray heat everywhere. By adding a gold reflector, we change the game. Since gold reflects over 98% of that IR energy, you get a concentrated heat zone. The best part? You get a much higher heat density on the wafer without having to pull more power from your electrical panel.
